Privacy Policy

How Car Workshop Finder collects, uses and protects personal data, in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.

This policy explains what personal data Car Workshop Finder ("we") collects through carworkshopfinder.com, why, and your rights. We follow the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL).

What we collect

  • Account details when you sign up: name, email, password (stored encrypted), and phone if you add it.
  • Reviews you write: rating, text, and your name shown next to them.
  • Messages you send: quote requests to businesses, contact and report forms (name, email, phone, message).
  • Business information from owners: listing details, photos, and verification records (the number or email a code was sent to).
  • Google Business Profile data, only if a business owner connects their Google account and chooses to import it. We store a token that lets the owner re-import; they can disconnect at any time.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Usage counts: we count clicks on WhatsApp, call, website and directions buttons per business per day. These counts don't identify you.

Cookies and analytics

We use a login cookie only when you sign in. Visitor statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites. Our spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) may process technical data such as your IP address to tell people from bots.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and show your reviews (to perform our service to you).
  • To pass your quote request to the business you contacted (at your request).
  • To verify business owners and prevent fraud and spam (our legitimate interest).
  • To process payments and keep records required by law.

We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

The business you send a quote request to; and service providers who process data for us: Cloudflare (hosting, database, storage — data may be stored outside the UAE with appropriate safeguards), Resend (email), Stripe (payments), Meta (WhatsApp verification codes) and Google (only if a business connects its profile).

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open. Quote requests are kept for 2 years. Payment records are kept as long as UAE law requires. Database backups are deleted after 12 weeks.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or ask for a copy. Email hello@carworkshopfinder.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the UAE Data Office.
